Solid Waste Collection Services
On June 28, 2012, the Austin City Council approved Chapter 15-6 Article 3, which regulates private solid waste collection. If an unlicensed contractor illegally dumps your trash or recycling, you may face a maximum fine of $2,000 and one year in jail. So, if you are going to throw it out, be sure it gets disposed of legally. Take your stuff to the nearest landfill, recycling facility or hire a licensed hauler.
